I may have destroyed what’s left of locking lugnut key with the impact gun, but I got them off.
Now bring on winter.

I don’t think you’re supposed to use any lug nut key with impacts... think that’s how mine got broken and broke the damn lugs on.

I know that, the key was damaged & breaker bar would not do shit. It kept on slipping due to damaged key. So beating then into submission it was . I can buy some new ones next year.

Considering those are just stock rims... I would just get a regular nut and forget this wheel lock business.
And it’s the slipping key that utterly destroyed the nut for me, ending up having to drill the stud to get it out.

At one point I sacrificed an old socket to remove some wheel locks for which there was no key.
I made a point of _not_ ordering them on my new car, mainly because I have to swap track rubber on with non-trivial frequency.
Although in the case of my truck, the actual response is “But who would want to steal these 16 inch steelies?”

I also have regular lug nuts too, so I’ll just use all 5 of them net year.

I use the same reason for no locking lug nut on steelies, who would want 16" steel wheels.

Locking lug nuts are about the most useless thing out there. They can be removed in about 5-10 seconds with a bolt extractor and an impact gun.

Just loosen the other four nuts and go for a quick drive to loosen the lock

When I got my truck it came with chrome 20's that I didn’t like. There were locking lugs in the glovebox, but I purposely did not put them on because I wanted new wheels anyway, so who cares if they get stolen? But the new 18s I bought? Definitely have locking lugs on them.
